We made our own superheroes!

On Wednesday, everybody had a wonderful time. We all made superhero puppets. We started off by using a wooden spoon for the body. We put a mask on and arms and legs. We tried to make the cape look as if it was blowing as our superhero flew through the air. We all had our photographs taken as we proudly showed off our finished puppets. We hope you like them. Big Maths Beat That!

We did our Big Maths Beat That quiz a day early this week as we are not at school tomorrow. Well done to   everyone in Bears for improving your score over half term, especially to RP who has correctly completed all 17 for the second week in a row! You will start on the Year Two sheet after half term! Wow!

Shrove Tuesday!

Happy Pancake Day!

We enjoyed making Pancakes today. We used:

  • 1 Egg
  • 100g Plain Flour
  • 250ml Milk
  • Pinch of Salt
We had to weigh and measure the ingredients, carefully cracking the egg in.

Then we whisked the ingredients all together and cooked the bater mixture in the hot sizzling frying pan!

I had a go at flipping the pancakes...

Next we added a topping of strawberry jam or golden syrup.

Finally we ate the pancakes-delicious!

Did you make any at home? I made one and I added banana and chocolate spread!

Designing a Super Bear!

Super bears!

This afternoon many of the children had fun making a bear sized superhero! The girls drew around E.M. for their superhero whilst the boys drew around A.H.
Mrs Chetcuti commented on how impressed she was at the brilliant team work. The children managed to come up with specific criteria for their hero; this included a name, power and the exact style of costume.
Next week we will be finishing our heroes and creating a final piece of  super writing to display in the hall!
