RWI Meeting

Hello

Can I remind parents about the parent reading workshop this Thursday in Burnaby Hall. The workshop starts at 3:30 and runs until 4:15. It will hopefully really help you to support your child's reading at home.

Many thanks, looking forward to seeing you.

Mr Wallis

Well Done Bears!

We have got to 100 on our Class Wide Rewards! We started at 1 and we have got all the way to 100 so now we get a treat. We voted for our treat, then the most votes were 7, which was to bring our teddies to school. So choose your favorite teddy to bring to school on Thursday, they will get to meet Fluffy!

Looking forward to seeing your teddies!

Trip to the Build-a-Bear shop

Bears have written their own blog today:

We went on a coach. We had partners and had to hold hands. Next we walked through Meadowhall to the Bear shop. We had to vote for a bear to make. We had to stuff our bear! Everyone had a chance to press the button on the machine to put the fluff inside. After that we put the love in! (These were love hearts that we each made a wish with and put inside.) Then we had to choose clothes for our bear. We called him Fluffy! We said Bye to the Build-a-Bear shop and sat on benches to eat our snack. Finally we went through Meadowhall and back on the coach. We came back on the coach to school with Fluffy!

We will be adding photos of our Bear-tastic trip so please make sure that you have signed the photo permission slip so that your child's photo can be displayed on the blog.

Bears Cultural Week

Bears Cultural Week overview Links to a Power-point Presentation to give children an overview of their learning about Eastern European countries in Bears class for Cultural week.

The children thoroughly enjoyed learning about Poland, Slovakia and Latvia, especially because some children in Bears class are from these countries so helped to teach us about them! They were excellent at learning to say hello, goodbye and count to 6 in these languages, can you remember any now?

Can you remember what these were and describe how these foods tasted?

Learn Its!

Learn Its will be sent out every Monday in the blue books for completion and return by the following Friday. Thank you to everyone who has done this so far, we have had some brilliant drawings to represent calculations! We will put photos of the best ones next week.

This week's Learn It is:

                    6 + 4 =

The first child to comment with their answer will receive a Class Wide Reward!

Thanks BF for your post!

Thank you BF for your post on behalf of your brother OF, you need to use initials for your name before it can be published on here as you can not use full names. Crocodile is a good suggestion! Any more ideas from anyone are welcome for which bear to get on Monday?

Build-a-Bear Trip!

Only 4 days to go until our exciting trip to Build-a-Bear! We will get to choose, make and take back to school our very own class bear! Have you got any suggestions for which type of bear to make? There are lots of brilliant bears so it will be a hard decision! We will be going on Monday 8th October in the morning after the register and we will be back to school before 12 for lunch as normal.
